On the tourist farm Kovačnik you can participate in various activities and learn many new things. We offer you a diverse range of programmes at the farm throughout the year, in each season or at special festive occasions.

THE PROGRAMMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

I Like You!

Make simple hearts out of willow or birch branches and give them to the ones you care about. By giving them a part of you, you will obtain their eternal affection.

Smell the bread!

We will heat the tiled stove together, then knead the dough made ​​of rye and wheat flour from the mill Matek in Fram, leave it to rise and afterwards bake it. In the end, we will enjoy this superb home-made bread.

Let´s Bake Biscuits! 

Baking is a relaxing task for the whole family. You will definitely enjoy mixing, beating, stirring, rolling, shaping, cutting and baking home-made biscuits.

Herbs and Teas

Walk around our garden full of herbs and aromatic plants. You can pick favourite herbs and prepare a refreshing, soothing tea. We will drink it in the shadow of the grapevine and inhale irresistible fragrance of melissa herb (lemon balm), black mint, thyme, basil…

Feeding Farm Animals

Let's feed the cows Miška, Liša, Breda, Šeka, Cika, their calves and the young bulls. Grandpa Ivan will gladly accept your help with pigs, hens and rabbits as well.

Meet Marsi

Mari is our Shetland pony. He adores oats, bread and grass of any type. He loves children and calm walks. You can also ride him and take a picture with him as a souvenir.

ACTIVITIES AT SPECIAL OCCASIONS

Easter Workshop

It is a tradition at our farm to make Easter Bunnies and hay chickens at Easter time. Join us on the Maundy Thursday.

Christmas Workshop

The creative workshop makes Christmas time more enchanting and merrier. We make wreaths, apples made of hay, salt dough ornaments and lots of other decorations using home-made and natural materials.

AUTUMN WORKSHOPS

Clear Apple or Pear Juice 

We will pick up apples and pears, take them to the mill and later squeeze them in the press. The unforgettable taste of this home-made juice will not leave your mouth for a long time.

Jam Cooking

We should be thankful for every nature’s gift. Therefore, we carefully store them for long winter days. And jam cooking is one of our favourite.

Pressing Grapes - Must  

On Pohorje, grape harvest is also very common. The grapevine in front of our farmhouse is full of sweet grapes every autumn. They give us delicious wine unless we consume all the sweet-tasting and thus irresistible must before maturing.

Let´s Make Hedgehogs

The housewife Barbara’s imagination is boundless. It is her idea to make little hedgehogs with chestnut prickled shells. We will help you to make them, and you will take your products home to evoke lovely memories of colourful autumn days during duller and longer winter season.

Chestnut Roasting 

We cannot imagine autumn without roasting chestnuts over an open fire. First, we will cut them, make the fire, roast them and then enjoy the sweet taste of chestnuts until we are full.

Campfire

Making a campfire is for all who love sparkling flames as well as sparkles in the eyes. The romantic ones will definitely take a guitar and sing along.

Walnut Cracking and Peeling

The competition in walnut peeling usually ends up with a delicious potica (walnut cake) of mother Angelca. It is a superb reward for all competitors.

The programmes are meant for fathers, mothers, grandparents or individual guests as such.

They are also available to kindergarten or school groups.

The prices of the programmes vary according to the number of participants and /or the length of the stay. Individual offers will be based on your wishes and demands.
